Houston Snack Company Introduces Water Lily Seeds to US Market
HOUSTON, TX, UNITED STATES, January 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Let Me Snack LLC, a woman-owned specialty food company, is pioneering the introduction of popped water lily seed snacks to the American market, offering consumers a clean-ingredient alternative to conventional snack foods. Founded by Kirati Amin, an engineer turned food entrepreneur, the company transforms this ancient Ayurvedic superfood into contemporary snacks made with avocado oil and free from seed oils, artificial preservatives, and artificial flavors.
The company recently secured $15,000 in funding through a Kiva microloan that was fully funded in under six days, demonstrating strong community support. Let Me Snack was also selected for sponsorship by Wells Fargo to participate in the Houston Nutcracker Market in November 2024, one of the nation's premier holiday shopping events.
Water lily seeds remain virtually unknown in America despite being a staple superfood in Asia for centuries. The seeds offer twice the fiber of popcorn, contain all nine essential amino acids, and are rich in essential minerals including calcium, magnesium, iron, and phosphorus. Each serving provides powerful antioxidants like gallic acid, chlorogenic acid, and epicatechin.
Let Me Snack produces five distinctive flavors in two convenient sizes. Savory options include Himalayan Sunrise, the bestselling flavor made with Himalayan pink salt and turmeric; Barbecue Bliss with brown sugar; and Mint Masala with refreshing mint and Indian masalas. Seasonal sweet flavors include Pumpkin Spice and Cacao Clouds, both sweetened exclusively with unrefined date sugar. All products are roasted rather than fried and are naturally vegan, gluten-free, and grain-free.
Amin immigrated from India to Houston in 2015 to pursue a master's degree in electrical engineering. The pandemic prompted her career shift when she grew frustrated with healthy snacks containing artificial ingredients and misleading health claims. "I was reading every label, scrutinizing ingredients, and still coming up empty," Amin said. "I wanted something that honored both my heritage and my body—real ingredients, real nutrition, real taste."
Starting at local Houston farmers markets, Amin built the business through direct customer engagement and feedback. "When customers at farmers markets tell me they've been searching for clean snacks like ours for years, I know we're filling a real need in the market," she said.
The company will expand its trade show presence at Winter FancyFaire in San Diego from January 11-13, 2026, a major specialty food industry event.
