Nicholasville Jessamine County Parks and Recreation is currently seeking individuals interested in serving the community through recreation, events, facility operations, and park maintenance. NJCPR has four employment opportunities available, offering candidates the chance to play an important role in the programs, facilities, parks, and events enjoyed throughout Jessamine County.
From maintaining welcoming public spaces to expanding inclusive recreation opportunities and connecting residents with community events, each of these positions contributes to the services NJCPR provides throughout the community.
Applications for both Parks and Recreation Maintenance Worker positions are due today, August 19. Applications for the Recreation Program Supervisor and Special Events and Marketing Coordinator positions are due August 26.
Recreation Program Supervisor, Therapeutic Recreation
The Recreation Program Supervisor, Therapeutic Recreation, is a full-time position focused on planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating inclusive recreation programs and services for participants of all ages and abilities.
The position will work to increase accessibility and participation through adaptive recreation programming, accommodations, and community partnerships. Responsibilities also include supervising staff and volunteers, evaluating programs, managing program resources, and collaborating with organizations, schools, healthcare providers, caregivers, and community partners that serve individuals with disabilities.
The position offers a starting salary of $47,819.20, with applications due August 26, 2026.
Special Events and Marketing Coordinator
The Special Events and Marketing Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for helping NJCPR connect with the community through events, communications, marketing, and public engagement.
Responsibilities include planning and managing special events, festivals, celebrations, and other community activities, as well as overseeing marketing efforts for NJCPR programs, services, parks, facilities, athletics, rentals, and events. The coordinator will also work with community partners, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, media outlets, and members of the public to support NJCPR initiatives.
The position offers a starting salary of $47,819.20, with applications due August 26, 2026.
Parks and Recreation Maintenance Worker I
The Parks and Recreation Maintenance Worker I is a full-time position responsible for general maintenance and repairs of NJCPR facilities, grounds, and equipment.
The position assists with landscaping, grounds maintenance, construction projects, facility upkeep, playground and equipment maintenance, seasonal operations, and recreation events. This role helps keep parks and facilities safe, clean, and ready for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Starting pay is $17.10 per hour. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday, with some evening and weekend shifts. Applications are due today, August 19, 2026.
Parks and Recreation Maintenance Worker, Part-Time
NJCPR is also seeking a part-time Maintenance Worker to assist with the care of parks and recreation facilities.
This position primarily focuses on janitorial and custodial work, including cleaning park facilities and grounds, maintaining restrooms and shelters, completing light maintenance, and assisting with recreation events. The position is scheduled for approximately 20 hours per week and includes weekend, evening, and holiday shifts.
Starting pay is $17.10 per hour. Applications are due today, August 19, 2026.
