The milestone marks nearly 1,000 episodes of television together for James and Hardwick’s more than 20-year professional relationship

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, August 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Celebrity hairstylist, makeup artist, and men’s grooming expert Sean James is celebrating a major television milestone: 100 episodes working with Chris Hardwick on NBC’s The Wall.

The achievement marks the latest chapter in a professional relationship spanning more than 20 years and nearly 1,000 episodes of television.

Over the course of their collaboration, James and Hardwick have worked together on approximately 600 episodes of Comedy Central’s @midnight, approximately 270 episodes across AMC’s Talking franchise—including Talking Dead, Talking Bad and Talking Preacher—and now 100 episodes of NBC’s The Wall.

“It’s pretty amazing when you actually stop and do the math,” says James. “Chris and I have spent more than 20 years working together. Hundreds of haircuts, thousands of finishing touches, plenty of powder and hairspray—and, most importantly, a lot of laughs. To reach 100 episodes of The Wall and realize we’re approaching 1,000 episodes of television together makes me incredibly proud.”

For James, the milestone is also a celebration of the many people working behind the scenes to bring television to audiences.

More Than 2,000 Episodes of Television

The The Wall milestone is one chapter in a television career that has included more than 2,000 episodes, along with work in film, comedy, talk shows, competition television, fashion, editorial, advertising, red carpets and celebrity appearances.

A four-time nominee for the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards (MUAHS) and a member of IATSE Local 706, James has worked with clients including Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Hardwick, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Phil Keoghan, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Courtney Love and Rufus Wainwright, among others.

His work spans precision haircutting, dimensional color, men’s grooming and camera-ready hair and makeup for television, press appearances and red carpets.

“Whether I’m getting Chris ready to walk onto the set of The Wall, preparing someone for a red carpet or creating a haircut, color or highlights for one of my salon clients, the goal is always the same—make them look fantastic, make them feel confident and make sure they still look like themselves,” James says.

What’s Next

James is currently working on a new NBC sitcom, adding another project to a career that has crossed both scripted and unscripted television.

“There’s something incredibly exciting about making a sitcom, especially in front of a live audience,” says James. “After all these years in this business, I still get excited walking onto a set and going to work. We’re creating entertainment for people, and I never take that opportunity for granted.”

When he is not working on television and film productions, James works behind the chair at Matthew Preece Salon in Santa Monica, California, where he brings his Hollywood, editorial and salon experience directly to clients.

James specializes in men’s and women’s haircuts, precision cutting, hair color, highlights, blonding, dimensional color, gray blending and men’s grooming. His technical background includes Vidal Sassoon training, with an emphasis on precision cutting, shape, movement and hair designed to work both on camera and in everyday life.
