LONDON, GREATER LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- AICA Data International Ltd has announced the availability of AICA Atlas on AWS Marketplace, giving organisations another way to access product data enrichment and classification at scale.

AICA Data provides a product data intelligence platform that improves the information businesses use to identify, describe, classify and manage products and materials. Atlas brings enrichment and classification together, helping teams turn incomplete records into structured information they can review and use.

The platform does not compete with enterprise resource planning (ERP), product information management (PIM), enterprise asset management (EAM) or master data management (MDM) systems. These systems continue to manage business processes, product information, assets and master records. AICA improves the quality of the product data that supports them.

This distinction matters for organisations that have already invested in enterprise software. AICA helps them address gaps in their underlying data while continuing to use their existing systems.

For example, an ERP records purchases and stock movements, while an EAM system supports equipment maintenance. A PIM manages product information for commercial channels, and an MDM system controls master records. AICA supplies better product information for these activities.

Customers can purchase Atlas through AWS Marketplace, with usage billed through their AWS account. Organisations can also access the same Atlas platform directly through AICA. Both routes offer self-service and fully managed delivery options.

“Product data needs to tell people what an item is, what its technical characteristics are and how it should be classified,” said Isak Marais, Founder and CEO of AICA Data. “Atlas brings that work together, with confidence scores and reports that help teams assess the results. AWS Marketplace gives customers another way to access the platform and choose the level of support they need.”

Improving the data behind everyday decisions

Large organisations often hold product and material records across several systems, sites and countries. Over time, different naming conventions, abbreviated descriptions and missing details make those records harder to understand and compare.

A maintenance team may struggle to identify a spare part. A procurement team may find similar products recorded under different descriptions. A project team moving data into a new system may discover that records lack the information needed for consistent classification.

Atlas helps address these problems by improving the records themselves. It generates standardised short and long descriptions, extracts technical attributes and fills missing fields where supporting information is available.

For example, an incomplete record may identify a product by a part number but omit its manufacturer, dimensions or material. Adding available technical details gives people more useful information when searching, comparing or reviewing that product.

Enrichment before classification

Atlas follows an enrichment-first approach. It builds a more complete technical record before selecting a classification code. This gives the classification engine better context when determining the appropriate category.

Supported standards include the United Nations Standard Products and Services Code (UNSPSC), used in procurement and industrial supply chains, and GS1 Global Product Classification (GPC), used across retail and consumer goods.

Each classification includes a confidence score. This helps teams decide which records need closer attention and where to focus further review. A confidence score supports that review; it does not remove the need to assess uncertain results.

Every enrichment and classification job also produces detailed reporting. Depending on the work performed, reports show the number of records processed, classification results, attribute completeness, description improvements and items requiring attention.

Users can review results within Atlas and download reports for further analysis. This gives data teams a clearer view of what has changed and what still needs work before records are used elsewhere.

The reports also support discussions between data teams and the people who use the records. Procurement, maintenance and governance teams can review outstanding gaps together and decide what additional information is needed before accepting the output for use in business systems.

Atlas is designed to support catalogues containing hundreds of thousands or millions of records. Typical applications include enterprise system migrations, material master improvement, procurement data preparation and maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) catalogue improvement.

Better product data also supports preparations for AI and automation. Consistent descriptions, clear attributes and reliable classifications give these initiatives a more useful information base. Teams can assess remaining data gaps before expanding their use of automated processes.

A choice of access and support

Self-service access allows internal teams to upload records, run enrichment and classification jobs, review confidence scores and reports, and export the results. This approach suits organisations that want to manage the work themselves.

For larger or more complex projects, AICA offers fully managed delivery. The agreed scope can include data preparation, enrichment, classification, validation, reporting and final delivery.

Both options use the same Atlas technology. Customers can choose the level of support that suits their data volumes, internal resources and project requirements.

AWS Marketplace adds a purchasing route for organisations that use AWS for software procurement. Direct access through AICA remains available for customers with other purchasing arrangements.

The listing can be accessed at AICA Data on AWS Marketplace. Information about direct access and managed services is available from AICA Data or by emailing info@aicadata.com.
