Metro Action Commission Offers Microsoft Digital Literacy Training
The Metropolitan Action Commission successfully held the first session of its free Microsoft Digital Literacy Training on Tuesday, offering residents an opportunity to build essential technology skills and begin their pathway toward an entry‑level IT career. Two additional training sessions remain this month for individuals interested in strengthening their digital literacy and becoming eligible for CompTIA A+ certification training.
The remaining sessions will take place on:
- Tuesday, October 20 — 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 27 — 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
All trainings will be held at: Metro Action Commission, 1281 Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37217.
Participants learn foundational skills including:
- Windows & computer basics
- Microsoft Word essentials
- File management & OneDrive
- Browser use & online safety
All individuals who complete the four‑hour training will earn a Microsoft Digital Literacy Certificate and become eligible for CompTIA A+ training, a widely recognized credential that can help launch an information technology career.
The training is beginner‑friendly, requires no prior experience, and includes loaner computers to ensure all participants can engage fully.
“We are excited to see residents taking the first step toward strengthening their digital skills and accessing career pathways in the growing tech sector,” said Tanya Evrenson, MAC Director of Workforce and Youth Development. “We encourage anyone interested to join one of the remaining sessions.”
